On Thursday, Vivien and I went to the library to borrow books for storyboarding as we are quite stuck at that.

Friday was consultation today and I was busying copying down notes into my sketchbook. I have leant some useful tips from the book.

Let me list out some for you.

1.Your initial storyboard should never be the final. As you move on, there will be certain changes so we shouldn’t love our boards to much and be prepared that some of our ideas will be thrown out totally and lastly we have to keep an open mind for ideas to develop a good storyboard.

2.Beat sheet

We should have a beat sheet to list out all the shots before we start so we can see the skeleton of the story flow.

Eg.
1. A boy walks to the window.
1. 2.There is a cat outside the window.
2. 3.The boy smiles

3. Shot list

After that, we add the shot sizes.

Eg.
1. A boy walks to the window. WS
1. 2.There is a cat outside the window.MS
2. 3.The boy smiles. MCU


After all these are planned out, one can start drawing out the storyboards to see the story flow visually and how we can improve to make it more interesting and suitable for the story.
